When did you start doing music?
I started doing music at about age 13.
Tell us a little about your childhood.
I grew up in a household where I was the youngest out of three children, the only boy. I was a funny little kid running around, getting into trouble and doing things that were adventurous. I thought I was a tough guy. When my father wasn’t around I grew up with a stepfather who came into my life when I was about 14 or 15. I was a ladies man, always liked the girls and always found myself around females.
Which artist do you share similar styles with?
It’s hard to say. People used to compare me to Nas but I guess that’s just because we came from the same place so I guess we have the same styles with the slang we use. But I don’t think so. Still, it’s tough for me to answer the question… that may be a question for the people to decide.
Who’s your favorite singer of all time and why?
My favorite rapper of all time is Jay Z. My favorite singer of all time… I don’t know. I’d probably have to say a young Michael Jackson.
How did you feel when you won your first HHS title?
It was a little overwhelming! I didn’t think that I was going to win the whole thing. I felt proud of myself, like people are paying attention. I feel like everything that we’ve been doing and working for up until this point was well worth it. It gave me the inspiration to go forward and keep going.
Who was your toughest competitor at a Hip Hop SeaZon Showcase and why?
I liked the kid Mason; the white boy Mason. Honestly, I thought the kid who had the dance that was like the Carlton mixed with the dab or something; I don’t know. That was creative so I thought he was going to at least be nominated or something.
Who’s your celebrity crush?
I don’t have a celebrity crush.
What was your most memorable moment at a Hip Hop SeaZon Showcase?
I think winning Rookie of the Year caught me completely off guard; when they announced that I was the Rookie of the Year.
Where do you see yourself 3 years from now?
I see myself with a huge fan base, selling music and actually profiting from my talents. I see myself taking vacations with my team and enjoying the fruits of my labor.
